Binding, c. 1: old limp vellum. Author and title written on spine. "Gymnastica" written on top edge of text block, "Merchurial de Arte Gymnastica" on bottom edge of text block. Copy 2: modern tan paper, spine vellum. Title in gilt on spine: DE ARTE / GYMNAST
Centered on front pastedown of c. 1 is calligraphic label of Theodore Besterman, signed with the initials P.S. Above device on t.p. is owner's signature: Paolo Toso possesore; it is repeated above the printer's device at colophon
